Message of the Vice President

Message from V.President

Globalization is bringing us more choices and new opportunities for the provision and expansion of higher education in Ethiopia. It is making us more familiar with diversifying the programs and modalities of HEI. The typical categories used to classify the prevailing Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Ethiopia are Public and Private HEI. As one of the Private HEIs, Ethio Victory College is founded in Debre Berhan Town to balance the unfair Zonal distribution of Ethiopian HEIs and expected to realize the quality of education through time.

It should be realized that HEIs are required to be organized in their overall facilities, services being friendly and accessible primarily for students, academic staff and administrative workers. In order to maintain the quality of education, the availability of qualified professionals and well-organized college facilities, demand-driven research findings, area-focused community services and above all student-centered method of teaching and continuous assessment mechanisms are highly decisive and significant requirements.

To ensure quality education and make the teaching-learning process of the college research-based, the research activities should get due emphasis. Even though there are research activities run by the teaching staff of Ethio Victory College, the college has faced a shortfall in undertaking a big and sound research project. Above all, the college made structural change in order to better address the existing issues regarding our missions. The current organizational structure of Ethio Victory College depicts one Business owner (President), one deputy Business owner (Vice president) and three core process owners (Deans) and one support process owner (Head). The undergraduate teaching-learning core process is led by the Dean of Higher Education and includes six Department Heads and a number of teaching staff. The technic and vocational education and training core process is led by the Dean of technical and vocational education and training and includes six Department Heads. The Dean for research and community services leads the research and community service core process. Moreover, the Head of Administration and Finance leads all administrative sections including human, material and finance resources under the core process.

The research dimension of our college is expected to encourage the academic staff, students and the community. To put in a nutshell, Ethio Victory College is committed itself to carry out problem solving research works and come up with recommendations that are practically acceptable and economically feasible. Much is expected from Ethio Victory College to discharge its research findings for the benefit of the community. Moreover, the college is expected to assist the community in the areas of education, health and income generation to alleviate poverty and realize self-sufficiency i.e. avoidance of dependence syndromes and strive for self-sufficiency.

In line with a vision of producing competent and responsible citizens through research based higher education, Ethio Victory College has triple mandates of teaching, research and community service. In addition, Ethio Victory College is expected to carry out technological innovations. The missions of Ethio Victory College are creating competent citizens by providing quality and research based education that can address the interest and expectations of customers; expanding educational programs that are market-oriented by considering periodical tangible circumstances; and contributing its roles for the national priorities.

Ethio Victory College strongly believes that the support of partners is an important input to ensure quality of education and research undertakings. Therefore, the college has tried to establish collaboration with local and international HEIs in the areas of teaching-learning and research. In particular, Ethio Victory College is looking for partners to run joint programme/s with any interested institution/s in the fields of health science, information technology, business and economics, as well as sharing reference books and other educational materials including demonstration sites, laboratories with facilities, educational field trips, workshops and all other necessary things. One of the mandates of Ethio Victory College, community service, is not yet touched. So community services are also areas of urgency and priority for our college. In general, It has become necessary to establish both local and international partnership to ensure quality and relevance of Higher Education Institutions to be the center of excellence in teaching-learning, research and community services.

It is with this pre-defined and pre-determined expectation that Ethio Victory College initiates partnership and institutional relation with HEIs, Zonal, Regional and National governments/Organizations, as well as Non-Governmental Organizations and donors. Therefore, Ethio Victory College is inviting partners for mutual co-operation and agreement from governmental, non-governmental organizations, donors, embassies and foreign and Ethiopian HEIs who are currently working to foster joint educational programmes, research activities, staff and student exchange and in the areas of our common interest.

Finally, I would like to let all concerned bodies know that Ethio Victory College is delighted to work with interested internal and external stakeholders in the areas of learning-teaching, research and community services. I am enthusiastic to welcome you to our college whether you are prospective students, educators, researchers, alumni, partners, or anyone else. I hope your visit to our official website and to our college underscores our commitment towards undergraduate studies, research endeavors and community engagements.

Sincerely yours,
